Pompano Beach Dental Staff
Pompano - Ft Lauderdale - Boca Raton
Alan Slootsky was born in Bayonne,
New Jersey in 1954. He graduated from Bayonne
High School in 1972 where he was the captain
of the swim team. He attended Rutgers University
in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was accepted
early admission to the College of Medicine
and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. After
graduating in 1978 he completed a one-year
general practice residency at the Jersey
Shore Medical Center/Fitkin Hospital in
Neptune, New Jersey next to Asbury Park.
He moved to Florida and spent one year in
Gainesville, Florida working at the Union
Correctional Institute in Raiford. He settled
in Boca Raton in 1980 and established his
practice at its present location soon thereafter.
He is committed to maintaining the highest
standards of dentistry possible with the
latest technology and equipment. He is devoted
to his pati-ents' needs and takes thousands
of hours of dental continuing education.
He attained a Fellowship from the Academy
of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 1983 and
a Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry
(MAGD) in 1995. This was for taking over
and above a thousand hours of continuing
education in a variety of subjects. He is
now co-chair of the crown and bridge class
at the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic
and has lectured to Dentists, Doctors and
Hygienists on Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction
(TMJ). He has appeared in the past on TV
and radio educating the public on current
issues in dentistry. He is a member of the
ADA (American Dental Association), FDA (Florida
Dental Association), BDA (Broward Dental
Association), AES (American Equilibration
Society), APS (American Prosthodontic Society),
Pankey Institute, and is listed in the "Guide
to America's Top Dentists" of the Consumers'
Research Council.
When he is not in the office you may find
him as chair of the Temple Beth El Adult Education Committee or volunteering for The Jewish Federation. He also enjoys
the outdoors with his wife Jill of over 30 years,
running, biking, and hiking. Dr Slootsky
successfully ascended Mt Rainer with the
group "Dentists Climb for a Cause"
in an effort to raise money for the charity
Operation Smile. You can view the published

Erick, a graduate from Georgetown Law School, Jodi, a student at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School and Jennifer, a student at Spanish River High School.

Lissette, Business Manager
Lissette was
born in Nyack, New York and moved to Boca
Raton when she was 8 year old. She graduated
from Spanish River High School. She came
to work for Dr. Slootsky in 1998 and soon
thereafter received her degree in Radiology
and Expanded Duties Dental Assisting from
Nova Southeastern University College of
Dental Medicine. She began her career with Dr. Slootsky as a dental assistant and gradually added many other tasks such as insurance filing, bookkeeping, financial arrangements, patient financing, marketing and appointments.
In her spare time Lissette enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their two children Kelly and Ava. |

Denise,
Registered Dental Hygeinist
Denise
was born in Norwalk, Connecticut and moved
to Deerfield Beach when she was 8 years
old. She interned with Dr Slootsky while
attending Ely High School's vocational program
for health occupations. In 1988 she graduated
from Palm Beach Community College with a
degree in dental assisting and then continued
with her dental hygiene degree. Denise has
been with Dr. Slootsky for over 20 years.
She has a very loyal following of patients
who are captivated by her warm heart, exceptional
skills, and her devotion to her profession.
Denise enjoys taking continuing education
courses and keeping up with the latest technology.
She has been happily married for 14 years
and has 3 daughters and a son. Denise enjoys
spending time with her family and is very
active with her church.

Cathy ,
Dental Lab Assistant
Cathy
was born in Ft. Lauderdale and graduated
from Nova High School. She received her degree
in dental assisting with expanded duties
and radiology from the Florida Medical and
Dental Technologies School of Ft Lauderdale. While attending school she did
her internship with Dr.Slootsky. After graduation
she worked briefly for another dentist and
then came back to Dr. Slootsky's office.
Cathy has been with us since 1984.
Her duties include assisting in the laboratory,
making temporary crowns and bridges, and taking
custom shades.
Cathy enjoys spending time with her husband
and their four children.

Kimberly, Expanded Duties
Dental Assistant
Kimberly was born in North Carolina and moved to South Florida when she was 10 years old. After High School she attended Broward Community College for her degree in Expanded Duty Functions and Radiology. From there she continued on to FAU for her B.A. in Criminal Justice. She has spent 17 years working in the dental field. Many of those years were spent in periodontal practice specializing in full reconstruction cases and treatment planning.
Kimberly has been married for over 14 years and enjoys crafts, reading and spending time with her family and friends. |

Nancy,
Registered Dental Hygienist
Nancy
has lived all her life in South florida. After attending St. Thomas Aquinas High
School she began working for her father Dr. Joseph Carroll as a dental assistant while studying at Palm Beach Community College to receive her degree in Dental Hygiene. Nancy has been working for Dr. Slootsky for almost 20 years. She enjoys learning about new advance technology in her field of training. Her dedication and warm personality makes every visit for her patients an enjoyable experience.
Nancy has been with her husband for over 20 years and loves playing with her two dogs Zack and Kobe. |

Sarah,
Dental Assistant/ Treatment Coordinator
Sara
was born in Ft. Lauderdale and graduated
from Coconut Creek High School. She received
her Certified Dental Assisting degree and
expanded duties and radiology degrees from
the Florida Medical and Dental Technology
School of Ft. Lauderdale in 1978. In 1980
she moved to California and received her
California certification in dental assisting
and state licensing in coronal polishing.
She moved back to Florida in 1986 and worked
for several other dentists before she found
Dr. Slootsky. She has been with us for over
11 years. Sara loves interacting with our
patients and enjoys explaining treatment
plans.
Sara has been happily married for 13 years
and has Rolex her pet maltes. She is an
avid Dolphin's fan and loves fishing, water
sports, exercising, biking, roller blading,
jogging, and swimming. |

Terri,
Dental / Administrative Assistant
Terri was born in Fort lauderdale and is a graduate of Coral Springs High School. In 2004, she attended Concord Career Institute's Dental Assisting Program. After She interned for Dr. Slootsky, she decided to stay with him and join his professional staff. Her duties include scheduling appointments, computer troubleshooting, sterilization control, HIPAA Officer, and assisting the doctor.
Terri, a mother of one, enjoys the beach, roller coasters and Internet surfing.
